Pokémon (Japanese: ポケットモンスター Pocket Monsters) is an ongoing animated show that follows the adventures of the series’ main protagonist Ash Ketchum and his friends (Ash’s Pikachu). The series has been going for many years now and has always kept its fan following.
The original pokemon game revolved around the story of Red but the anime pokemon revolved around Ash Ketchum Satoshi and his first friend pokemon Pikachu, from the day when pokemon started airing on television we all have connected with Pikachu and even more than Ash.
If anyone asks me about pokemon the first thing that comes to my mind is Pikachu and that is also why he has most of the fans of the series. In every generation of the series, the pokemon of Ash keeps changing but Pikachu has always stayed beside him and always keep improving in design and power with new moves added every time when it seems Ash should change Pikachu.

Pikachu is an electric mouse pokemon which we meet in the very first episode of pokemon anime who Ash Ketchum got as an alternative to the main starter given by Professor Oak which was Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur. In the beginning, Pikachu being a wild pokemon was very moody and full of energy but after as saved him his heart changed towards Ash and made his greatest companion.
Pikachu has a much higher consciousness compared to other pokemon just like Meowth as he doesn’t like living inside the Pokeball and go and see places on his own out of his own curiosity. And he also didn’t want to evolve into a Raichu as he feels disrespected that he can’t win against another Raichu without evolving and made his mind to never evolve again.
Pikachu is one of the original pokemon of the pokemon series and also the starter pokemon of pokemon yellow seeing his popularity of the anime. His original design as a sprite was round guinea pig mouse but in anime was seen as a baby house mouse.
And seeing how cute Pikachu look and how much he is connected to the story of pokemon anime he has become the undefeated mascot the pokemon franchise.

He is the most popular pokemon among all pokemon fans every pokemon fans want to have him even in those game where he is not a starter pokemon and not only in the pokemon franchise he has appeared in games outside of Pokemon franchise. We have seen him in super smash bro and his humungous size balloons have been used in many parades around the world.
He can be said to be most popular pokemon who is more popular than any pokemon even the legendary doesn’t take as much popularity for so long as for popularity of Pikachu.
